Boiling Sweet Corn on the Cob - Recipe
Good cobs:
When possible get the freshest sweet corn on the cob. Picked recently. The sweetness decreases by 30-40% every 24hrs after picking.
Utensils:
Any utensil like cooker without lid which can accommodate the cobs.
Instructions:
- Peel the sweet corn cob and remove the silks and keep ready. Can be cut to pieces to accommodate the cobs.
- Fill the utensil with drinking water till the cobs can be immersed 60-70%.
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Add the peeled sweet corn cobs to the boiling water and cover a lid.
- Add 1-2 spoons of suger for each cob for more taste.
- How long to cook? Cook for 7-8 minutes in open utensil or 1-2 wistles in pressure cooker.
- Remove the cobs from hot water and place on a platter.
- Garnish with butter, salt and lemon.
- Serve hot.
